Keli A. Moore
As a Cap film student, Keli brought some precious experience as a DGC permittee, so she had some life skills to draw from and share. After school, jobs as a producers assistant on X-Men II and director's assistant for Keenan Ivory Wayans, among others, enabled her to capitalize on her networking survival skills and work on her own projects at the same time. Personal quote: "Have a vision, hold your focus and learn the game. And remember attitude is everything.

I have just finished the Self Employment program and am developing workshops for actors and film industry people to learn stress and coping skills for balance, and maintaining health and boundaries while working in the biz -- I am also one of the producers for the Tom Todoroff acting workshop and am currently shopping a screenplay.

Capilano College Film Center gave me the opportunity to explore and experience my own ideas and projects. A giant sandbox of equipment and faculty guidance made Capp a great place for me to strengthen my voice as an artist. The one minute films every week proved to be a great excersize for refining my directing skills. Forcing you to focus on story and beats, the insecure part of me that wanted to prove myself as an artist faded off and I became more confident in my craft knowing story is everything. The program has given me a great deal of confidence and knowledge in myself as an artist and as a filmmaker. With a extensive topic coverage from EP Budgeting to composing balanced frames, the three years I spent at Capp gave me a great experience and insight into the industry as a whole.

After my third year I graduated from Capilano College and landed an acting role on "Heartland" a CBC family drama playing Ty Borden. I am currently filming season two until December. The knowledge I gained from film school continues to expand my abilities as an actor. I am currently working on a feature script of my own with plans to shoot after the show has been completed. And I still make one minute films every chance I get. I love short films.
